Last week - results. It was D-day for us GCSE'ers and I spent my results day enjoying the gorgeous French sun down in Bergerac, on holiday with my boyfriend and his family. It was a lovely day and I was (still am) ecstatic about my results. Overall, I got 9 A*'s and an A in Further Maths so I was pretty pleased that all my hard work during May/June and the months beforehand had paid off - even if it did cause a little absence on the blogging front. Nonetheless, when I sadly returned home from my holiday on Saturday, I was greeted by a few lovely gifts from my family; MAC Blankety lipstick being one of them - they know me far too well.
I've been eyeing up MAC Blankety lipstick for a while now after seeing my friend use it one day - I had to get my hands on it! It's part of the Amplified Creme finish range which I love - it's definitely one of my favourite finishes. It's got a really thick and creamy texture and so it doesn't leave your lips feeling dry or anything. Instead, the lipstick is highly moisturising and hydrates your lips. The only problem here is, that the creamy-ness seems to slightly hinder the lasting power of the lipstick. It does seem like it glides as easily off as it does on so you'd need to carry this around for mid-day top ups.
MAC describes Blankety to be a 'soft pink beige'. At first, without being swatched, it does look like a rather daunting colour for me. I don't tend to wear dark lipsticks and so when I opened it, I was rather freaked out by the dark brown looking shade. However, when swatched and applied onto the lips, the lipstick is much lighter in colour. It is a nude-brown shade with pink undertones - it's beautiful! It's a really great, natural colour for partnering with everyday makeup as it's not too 'in your face'. It'd also look fab with a dark smokey eyed look in the evening so it's really quite versatile.
Have you tried MAC Blankety lipstick?
